Trade Bars 101: The New Era of ESO Rewards
With the launch of Update 49, the era of "Event Ticket Stress" is officially over. Say goodbye to the 12-ticket cap and event FOMO. Trade Bars are here to unify how we earn and spend rewards.
What are Trade Bars?
Trade Bars are a permanent, account-wide currency that fully replaces Event Tickets. Unlike the old system, Trade Bars are designed around player choice.
No Cap: You can hold as many Trade Bars as you want.
Earnable Only: They cannot be bought with Crowns. They are earned strictly through gameplay.
Never Expire: Once you earn them, they stay in your currency tab forever.
Ticket Conversion: When you log in for the first time after Update 49, your existing Event Tickets automatically convert to Trade Bars at a 100:1 ratio.
How to Earn Trade Bars
Unlike Event Tickets, which were limited to specific "First Daily" activities during events, Trade Bars can be accumulated through several different gameplay loops.
In-Game Events: This remains the most familiar method. During events like the Jester’s Festival or Anniversary Jubilee, your first daily activity (such as turning in a world boss quest or event box) will award Trade Bars.
The Tamriel Tomes: This is the most consistent way to earn Trade Bars.
Free Track: All players can earn up to 9,000 Trade Bars per season simply by playing the game and hitting Tome Milestones.
Premium Track: Players with a purchased Premium Tome can earn an additional 1,500+ Trade Bars per season.
Golden Pursuits: These are limited-time "campaigns" that pop up in your Activity Finder. They function like mini-battle passes where completing specific tasks (e.g., "Complete 3 Delves in the Gold Coast") rewards bundles of Trade Bars and other items.
PvP Veterancy Track: For the competitive players, participating in Battlegrounds, Cyrodiil, or Imperial City now contributes to a "Veterancy Track" that periodically drops Trade Bar rewards as you rank up.
Twitch Drops: Keep an eye out for opportunities to earn Trade Bars via Twitch Drops happening throughout the year around content launches and during PTS cycles.
Pro Tip: Because there is no currency cap, don't be afraid to save your Trade Bars until the Gold Coast Bazaar rotates its inventory. If you don't see a mount or outfit you like this rotation, hold onto them—they never expire!
