FREE ROUGE'S REFUGE HOUSE
The Rogue’s Refuge is a free player home (a Breton mausoleum/hideaway featuring secret doors and interactive furniture) rewarded by the "Get Away from It All" achievement. To unlock it, you need to collect four fragments. This is free for all players and only requires base game to unlock it.
Quick Tips Before You Start
Fragments are Tradeable: If you hate a specific grind, check Guild Traders. You can buy/sell almost all of these notes for gold.
No Perfect Stealth Required: For quest-based fragments, getting caught or failing timer bonuses does not void the fragment drop.
The 4 House Fragments & How to Get Them
Wherenow Code Key (The Story Quest)
Where to get it: Reward for completing the story quest "A Guild Grows in Glenumbra".
How to do it
Pick up the Thieves Guild Season intro questline from the Crown Store for free (or visit Daggerfall in Glenumbra).
Play through the short stealth and code-breaking storyline with Quen.
Completing the 4th quest rewards you directly with this fragment.
Tip: If you have alt characters, you can run this easy ~1.5 hour questline on them to get extra keys and sell them on Guild Traders for easy gold!
Mysterious Nocturnal Note (The Heist Coffer)
Where to get it: Reward coffer upon completing Thieves Guild Heists.
How to do it:
Pick up the Heist daily quest from the Outlaw Refuge / Thieves Guild board.
Complete the Heist and turn it in.
Tip: Don't stress about the timer or getting spotted. As long as you finish the Heist and open your completion coffer, the fragment has a chance to drop.
Baffling Baan Dar Note (Dynamic Encounters)
Where to get it: Reward coffers from Dynamic Encounters out in the open world.
How to do it:
Keep an eye out in Auridon, Stonefalls, and/or Glenumbra for Dynamic Encounters marked on your map.
Join in, finish the encounter, and check your event coffer.
Tip: Because these events drop lots of loot, this note tends to be cheap on Guild Traders. If you don't feel like waiting around for events to spawn, search a few trade hubs to buy it for cheap gold.
Indecipherable Sai Note (RNG Grind)
Where to get it: Random drop from looting Safeboxes or Thieves Troves.
How to do it:
Safeboxes: Found inside shopkeeper buildings, banks, and taverns in major cities (e.g., Wayrest, Belkarth, Daggerfall).
Thieves Troves: Glowing blue chests scattered around wild zones and outlaw areas.
Casual Saver: Don't go out of your way to farm troves endlessly if it burns you out. Just pick open safeboxes casually while doing your daily city runs, or buy this one off the Guild Traders if RNG refuses to cooperate!
Claiming Your House
Once you have all four notes in your inventory:
Go to your Collections menu.
Navigate to Fragments -> Rogue's Refuge.
Combine all 4 notes to complete the "Get Away from It All" achievement and unlock your brand-new hideout!
